Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificates support

Starting January 2017 any website that is not running HTTPS will have a message appear in the location bar that says “Not Secure” on pages that collect passwords or credit cards.

This is the first part of a staged roll out that encourages websites to get rid of plain old HTTP and move all websites towards a more secure internet. This is why we have full support for free SSL certificates powered by Let’s Encrypt along with the paid (wildcard) alternatives.

Let’s Encrypt is a free, automated, and open certificate authority (CA), run for the public’s benefit. It is a service provided by the Internet Security Research Group (ISRG). These SSL certificates are supported by all major browsers and they’re renewed automatically every 90 days without any intervention. These SSL certificates are domain-validated and they don’t require a dedicated IP address.

If you are a HostPapa customer, your domain(s) (and subdomains) will receive Free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates 24 hours after pointing the DNS for your domain here. If there’s no SSL installed on your site please open a new support ticket from your Dashboard and we will be more than happy to help you with this.
